My date of hire is November 2013 and I don't have my LOE until a little later this month. For those lucky enough to be in class around the holidays it will have been a three month process. Fine by me. Less time on the line on first year pay.

With respect to housing--it has been challenging. I have a private residence to stay in and have been renting a car with my sim partner. Others have bit the bullet on a hotel. I've heard of crashpads being utilized.

So what are you guys doing in the time between those formal training weeks? I know at Mesa I had just gone home to wait for a call for OE.

I would bank on two months of training. As for transportation either stay at a place that will transport you there or bring a car. They do have sim blocks that start at 1130pm

Even if you do a hotel with a shuttle to the training center, I'd still bring a vehicle up if possible. I split a 16hr drive into the two days before training started and it made my life much easier for my time in MSP.

Are you guys still getting paid minimum guarantee while you are waiting for LOE or in between training events and hole study ?

Yes. Guarantee starts the day you return from CBT for class. This means if you start in the middle of the month, you'll have a month of guarantee pro-rated coming downrange but solid guarantee thereafter. Between my formal training events I've been sippin' suds and riding my bike. It's all scheduled ahead of time so I know where to be and when.
