I'm guessing something will be coming, just a matter of how long it takes before it's announced.
Are we having trouble getting guys through the door?

From what I've heard, hiring has slowed, and it's obviously showing with the last CA bid to come out of only 4 openings.

Still upgrading near 20 a month though. Im sure this wont last, likely will increase quite a bit over the next 6 months to a year. Thats still great considering our size. Assuming 15 a month thats 180 upgrades a year. When we start feeling even more of a pinch from major/legacy attrition that could easily double. We still have a few years to go until the retirement boom at the majors really begins...
Right now it seems FO attrition to is higher than capt attrition. Capts appear to be sticking around for a legacy only, while FO's are going to LCC's it seems. Explains why our FO attrition is higher.

Where did you take this info? According to the last CP newsletter October attrition was 16 CAs and 3 FOs, so far in November (by 11/16) 9 CAs and 1 FO. That's exactly opposite from your claim. It looks like experience still matters (at least I hope so). I agree that most CAs (me included) are waiting for legacies, possibly Southwest or FedEx and UPS. It's still awfully hard to "score" an interview though. I don't think the attrition floodgates will break any time soon. Maybe 20 a month will become an average? I don't expect 40/month that some were estimating will happen in the near future.

Well, time will tell. It is the holidays and things slow down a lot. I'm just going to hurry up and wait!

My mistake. I didnt see the most recent one.
Not too long ago we had one that was more FOs than Capts as I recall though. Or maybe it was the mid month attrition update I was thinking of.

Respectfully, what are smoking? "it's obviously showing"?? There were two vacancy bids for January. A class of 6 people on 11/30 and a class of 4 on 12/7. Given the timeframe for upgrade and the Xmas holiday and then the new years holiday, plus instructors and mgmt taking vacations, etc, a class of 4 on 12/28 seems pretty reasonable and still is /14/ upgrades for January, not 4. And that's about dead on in line with our CA attrition from the newsletter... I would expect a February vacancy bid to drop pretty soon after this one closes, and it'll probably have big classes in early January.

Mesa is still bringing guys in for $22/ Hr. Getting people through the door is not the problem... The quality of people may become a problem. I guess at least we're not doing the interview by text message. But given the current job market where all the regionals are hiring, the incentives will make a difference to potential new hire pilots. Domicile and QOL are pretty high up there on people's list, with upgrade time etc but an extra 15-20k definitely holds weight.
