You should never disclose why your leaving and where your leaving too. A company cannot ask you why your leaving or where your going.

Way to fear monger you chump. First off your entire first year is At Will, meaning either party can cease employment for any reason(s). So, if what your saying is true, the Union would be all over it, and I've already taken the liberty to check your statement. It is wholeheartedly false.
Secondly, it's none of the company's business where you go. There have been multiple people making lateral transfers and I don't see a single one on here saying that they were "fired" when they made the lateral transfer.
I'm not saying it's all sunshine and rainbows here, but you need to calm your tits and stop fear mongering.

Maybe there's more to it, but if it's really only because this person moved to another regional it means Compass is becoming GoJet.
