Default Hiring and upgrades

Flew with a CA in the training department. Spoke about hiring and upgrades here's what he mentioned to me

Hiring goal of 100-120 new FOs in 2017.

80 more CA upgrades in 2017

"Those are the numbers now. They keep changing but so far every change has been an increase"

CPZ is having trouble filling August+ classes. He suspects a bonus might appear.

"3 classes of 6 each month" [not sure if this meant NHs or upgrades]

Very optimistic about the future of movement here.

We don't need a bonus, we need a pay increase across the entire pay scale, both fo and CA

Don't think we can do signing bonuses anymore because of what happened with the 10K bonus in the past. I'm almost certain it went to court and the company lost. So they can only do things that'll benefit the whole pilot group. So it'll have to be pay increases or retention bonuses for everyone. This is all hear say though not 100% sure

Well nice to hear something good for a change. I think things have finally started to turn around here. A pay increase on both sides would really drive the morale back up.

I agree but it won't be enough...Trans States Holdings is going to have to sweeten the pot, even with the pay raise we will see significant issues getting pilots...I think you will all see some big time numbers on the resignation side soon with Summer/Fall hiring at the majors and LCC's
