And now we are being reminded of the bonus we can get for referring pilots. First time I've seen the company send this email out in the two years I've been here

I'm pretty sure I remember Compass pilots being happy when there was a rumor of planes coming from Republic...

And hell there's even a compass pilot posting as N200NN, an AA owned plane flying for Compass, to me that would say they are pretty happy about flying someone else's plane.

The joking and humor aside, I'm pretty sure all regional pilots realize that it's mainline that matters. Regionals are just a stepping stone to get there.

Let's assume that a PHX base opens. When it does open where is the flying going to come from? Will we get additional aircraft? Will we displace crews from LAX/SEA?

9am - chief pilot addresses state of the airline:
Key notes:
-Thank you all, cpz performance is fantastic. Best it has been in years. Customers are pleased.

-Attrition to majors and LCCs is phenomenal. Cpz pilots are getting hired. Expecting 40% of compass pilots to move on in 2017.

-cpz has enough applicants to fill new hire classes but not enough meet cpz standards. working on this and currently running classes. would rather run smaller classes than hire poor pilots.

- want to clarify: tired of hearing "losing flying" rumors. Cpz is not losing any flying. We are kicking butt and our performance is great. Our contracts are solid, albeit up for renewal in a few years. Delta just busted butt to get cpz into Seattle and has been helping cpz with the move. Cpz is arguably AA's best performer across the board.

- more captain upgrades. Sorry guys, said the wrong number during the call, didn't mean to cause panic. Cpz captains get hired. upgrading a bare minimum of 12/mo through 2017. More new hires will mean even more upgrades!

- there is a big possiblity of a new PHX crew base. Haven't announced its existence or non-existence because management wants to make sure that it will not be a temporary base that disappears in a year or two. Updates coming SOON.

-Seattle base doubles in size by Jan 2018.

---------------------------------
Wow awesome news! Nice to see things are really looking up around here. Thankful for the open communication and excited for the future. Better check what the guys on the forum think

5pm - compass forums:

"Yeah so about that memo who do you think is going to take all our flying soon? Let's discuss"

Well I think it's rightfully so that we can discuss the possibilities of loosing flying. Any company can for that matter. I for one take anything management says, including that email from el hefe this morning, with a grain of salt considering how we were all lied to about msp staying open. The only truth in anything that happens here is when we get the final memo of things opening, closing, losing planes or gaining flying.

which is fair. Don't believe anything is set in stone until it actually comes to fruition. Deals and plans fall apart frequently.

What's not healthy is assuming everything the company says IS in fact a lie. Not saying that's you, but those guys are out there.

Just a guess but I would think that it will not be additional flying just a shift of the flying we already have. Also I don't think displacements would be needed. I think there would be enough people interested in being based there that they could fill it with voluntary system bids and if need be just make that the only base offed to new hires and upgrades till it fills.

Idk that it would go senior. I think it would actually see some Jr CA slots.

As for week, it's not who's going to take our flying.

It's more, ok so you've admitted we're short on new hire pilots but what are you going to do to remedy that?
They say pick up open time for face value, not 200% and btw you get $1500 if a person stays 12 months. It's not $1500 per pilot that you just get to come.

500 for passing IOE, 500 for 6 months and 500 for 12 months. What an insult. Especially given the hiring market.

So knowing that they don't see any urgency in attracting talent, it's going to progress to the next level, possibility canceling flights.

GoJet offers their pilots $10,000 for referring a "friend." See link below:

So going from 20 to 51 departures a day from SEA. Where is this flying coming from? I assume it will be from some of the routes Skywest currently flies out of Seattle?
