After listening to how some FAs mess with their schedules, doing swaps and trades at the same time as dropping and picking up while moving trips all at the same time, I wonder if any scheduling software will work for them. Hell sometimes I figure we need a super computer just for them. All that just so they can work 50 hours and still have off for their grandchilds middle school graduation.

Senior mammas of course. Some of the new hires I feel like I have to remind them to breath.

Tax Related question:
So I live in GA and obviously paid my federal and state taxes, however I have a $274 "local withholding tax" SDI or whatever on my W-2. Apparently this is for CA short term disability as I am based in LAX. My question is do I have to fly a CA state tax return for this? Payroll had no clue.

I had this issue a few years back when I upgraded into LA, specifically there is a CA tax code that allows employees in the transportation industry, specifically pilots and FA's, to not file CA income taxes if the following exist:
If you fly during the whole tax year more than 50 % of your flying inside the state lines of California you are required to file, if not, you are good and don't need to file. If for some reason you get a request like I and many others did, do some digging, on the googs, it's not too hard to find. I called the state tax office and told them about my situation and that more than 50% of my flying was outside state lines, and they took me off the list. In rare occurrences from one other CPZ guy I've heard them ask for copies of your logbook...
If anything go look it up before hand in case anything has changed, but it sounds like from a few friends it hasn't...not based in Cali anymore
Hope that helps...

The sum up I got from the call, which ended early from lack of questions:
Upgrades reduced to max of 8 due to lack of FO and increased FO attrition
Problem getting new hire FOs online. MW mentioned 50% of new hires are not passing training or require extra training which is prolonging their time to the line.
SOC not too happy about pilot raises and wants some of the honey pot. Claimed they have a study with all other connection carriers to compare pay.
Question about new policy to not use 3rd party apps for tracking delayed planes. They seem to not care and want to just keep us at the airport until the delayed airplane arrives.
Performance numbers have been at the top last couple months, but could be associated to poor weather on the east coast.
Flight attendant mad about not being notified about a canceled flight until after she commuted into base.
