Why don't you just move down? I'm a Bay Area native but just moved down after a couple of months since LA was not going to give me any sticker shock coming from up north. Whatever you decide, it's not too bad.
Thanks for the encouraging words and I look forward to applying / interviewing. Unfortunately a move isn't feasible due to family obligations and my wife's career. Any rumors of an SFO / SJC / OAK base? Haha

Ha! Well if you need a rumor I can certainly start one. Some encouragement though, we have lots of SFO and SJC overnights, some built with decent lay overs so... if you are near one or both the airports (palo alto?) you could sleep at home when on a trip!

Seat should be medium height, recline should be all the way up, full forward, lap belts laid over the seat, F*CKING SIDE BAG STRAP REMOVED. It’s all in the FOM!

Haha this! Got one the other day. I always wave to everyone. Even OO. Love seeing if it’s a decent guy or if I get the famous OO double 1000 yard stare. Though I have taxied past a few of our guys and they didn’t even bother to look. Must be ex-OO!

it was a joke, my man. I was trying to say I leave it in the most inconvenient shape.

He probably had to do it for a commercial they were filming

In the LAX box alley last week, I was waiting for an inbound CPZ before we could leave. Gave a casual "hi" wave to the other plane as it approached and got one back from the other FO. Then switched to the crazy two hands wave and got the crazy two handed wave back from the same FO. Totally made my day, and I'm nominating that FO for above and beyond!

Most junior FO in SD got hired 8/2017, so pretty junior. Captain is senior, 5 and a half years to hold it.

That was me my good friend! Last week, yep. Did a casual wave followed by a two hander after I received one!

I know, I don't care at all. If anybody seriously came and talked to me about how I left the seat I'd tell them to get a life and care about stuff that actually matters. Leave the seats however, I don't let petty stuff ruin my life

Forgot about the bag bro. Bean riding them eagles lately. Delta is forward, AA is all the way back. Sunshade better be up. Screen brightness at 50%. VHF 1, 2 and interfone volume on 50. Always leave a hotel pen behind, always!!!
