I did not think the FedEx corporate pilots got jumpseat privilages with other 121 carriers, but I was not sure if they could ride on their own FedEx cargo planes. It would be a nice bonus if they could.

They cannot jumpseat on any carrier including their own. They are still a part 91 operation, which means: no jumpseat.

Last that I heard (several months ago) they are working to resolve the issues to allow corporate flight crews to travel on FedEx revenue flights. Like I said before, in the past, the two departments have been separated as much as possible (sounds like management didn't want "fraternization" between the union and non-union pilots).

Don't know if they have worked out the details.

Quote: Do the corporate pilots get jumpseat privileges?

I just checked with our Jumpseat folks and they tell me our corporate pilots do have jumpseat privileges with the main line FedEx aircraft. I've had them on my jumpseat before but our jumpseat policies have changed a couple of times since 911 so I wasn't sure...haven't seen any of them for awhile. I have no idea if they can J/S with other Part 121 airlines.

Under current regulations, they are not able to jumpseat in the cockpit, they however might be able to as an "employee", but not as a part 91 pilot.

Haven't seen them and with some federal changes on jumpseats, the chances of even "employee" personal travel are getting slim fat and none.

Aircraft: 7 lear 45's/ 3 CL 601's/ 1 Global

About 37 Pilots and 4 Flying managers.

If your flight time meets the lines hiring minimums there is a 36 month flow through agreement with no reinterview. The interview for corporate IS the line interview unless you don't meet there mins then it is the same interview without a line pilot in the panel portion and the flow through is not gauranteed.

There is personal use of the Jumpseat for corporate after 1 year and it cannot be on the 72's.

Your hire date counts towards your line retirement but does not hold any seniority until you start on the line.

You bid 16 hard days per month minus holidays or vacation(2 weeks to start plus 4 floating) and once the schedule is set those are HARD days. Any additional flying is optional and paid at less than day rate.

Hiring goes by exec rec's/ internal app's(current employees ie. sort or ramp people)/ Interanal rec's/ outside apps. In that order

Excellent schedule, exec's, coworkers, flying, maintenance, equipment and average pay with excellent opportunity for advancement.

1/2 stay corporate and 1/2 go to the line.(About)

The line MUST be hiring to flow though or you might stay a little longer at your great corporate job.

They do have a commuting policy and you can commute it BUT it is very difficult as a new hire. Everything goes by seniority.
