I was hired in early 2006 for a King Air 200 FO spot with a mostly part 91 management company. The King Air served as a 90 day probation period before becoming FO on one of the jets. At the time of hire I had about 1400 TT and 100 Multi.

I fly 91, but not really corporate. I demo/test/deliver everything from Piper and TBM-850 aircraft my company sells. I also serve our maintenance and avionics depts. in the same capacity, so I get to fly anything! Any piston twin is fair game, but only turbine twins will be Cheyenne's(we also own one). When I was hired, I had 3400TT, about 2000 Multi, and honestly it was right time, right place, the president of the company didn't even see my resume' until after he offered me the job.

Network
I found a job as a BBJ and G450 capt with 4500ish total time in fighters and 737-200s. Company paid for differences training and the 450 type. It took chance meeting with a friend of the CP and follow on persistence to get the job, so start networking if you haven't already been and don't leave a stone unturned. Good luck!

The biggest thing I've found with hours in the corporate world is that it's all driven by insurance companies. Consequently, the mins are higher than in the 121/135 world. This is especially true if the owner went with a cut-rate policy -- I've seen where the owner found himself out of luck finding pilots who met the insurance company mins. He was stuck shopping for a new policy so he could find guys to fly his jet. From what I've seen, 3000TT with several hundred hours on type is the min for the left seat, increasing with the size of the equipment (the jet, not the pilot). Most every place also wants you to already have the type which is $$$ for business jets compared to say a $6,000 737 type rating course.
