hiring mins for fedex
I was just wondering what the mins were for fed ex. I know they have some smaller single engine turbo props. either way I still have some time building left but a number to aim for is always nice.

FedEx doesn't have single engine airplanes
I don't think FedEx actually owns any single-engine airplanes. Those Cessna Caravan's you see flying around with FedEx painted on them are owned and operated by other companies; they are contracted by FedEx. They are simply feeders for FedEx. I believe FedEx's smallest airplane is the Boeing 727. Unfortunately, I've heard that FedEx doesn't favor working for one of their feeders when hiring pilots. FedEx is one of the hardest jobs to get in the industry. Their minimums don't reflect their hiring, but like most other good-paying aviation jobs, you will need about 10-15 years of professional flying experience, around 4000+ hours with at least 1500+ as captain of a jet. Also, FedEx really favors 3 internal pilot recommendations. They don't require it, but realistically, you probably won't get an interview unless you meet most or all of these requirements...so start making friends in Memphis.

AMEN TO THAT daytonaflyer. However, I've been told that stranger things have happened. You said that internal recommendations are helpful. Well, let me just say what I've said before, "TIMING IS EVERYTHING!!!" In addition to that, it not only what you know,(which is important) ,but WHO YOU KNOW AS WELL. That is a component of the equation that cannot be marginalized. I been associated with the aviation industry since 1987 when I got my first job as the Airport Coordinator for Marion County, FL. Trust me, who you know will be a feather in your cap.
Just my thoughts.
Just my thoughts.

I also work at the Fedex warehouse part-time and I'm going to look into transfering to the Airport facility and start networking! I need to figure out some way to get 1k PIC while holding that job... the only thing I can think of is King Air Charters. Yay or Nay, Possible or No? I know determination will play a big part and that I do have.
