Does anyone know if Eagle is hiring below their stated minimums of 1000 and 100? I know they have bridge programs with Purdue, ERAU, UND, etc., however, I was a grad from Purdue but was a Aviation Admin major not flight. I see on some gouge sites that people got hired with less than 700. Anyone have any info?

I applied to AE with 610TT, 143multi and 13years within the AMR corporation and was told to reapply with 1000tt. Seems the people they have been training with less than 1000tt have been having difficulty with the training regiment. I have heard on more than one occasion that Eagle's training is top notch. Very highly regarded program.

Eagle is a good stable regional- if you are an investor. Supposedly AA is starting to call back some of their pilots that were sent home, and hopefully Eagle will start upgrades again. I don't understand why they are hiring so many though...according to the info on this site, their most junior captain was hired about 7 years ago. It's also on an SF340. I'm a student at Middle Tennessee State, and they just opened up a bridge program with us...500 TTand 100 multi. Sounds like a good plan, but a friend of mine just got on with about 700 and 150 at Expressjet. I think I'd rather wait. Maybe some of you guys that work for either of those companies could provide more insight.

Anyway, DON'T DO IT!
I was employed with eagle for a little over 6 years and left the industry in frustration and some other personal reasons. Don't listen to anyone who is currently employed at Eagle. They will tell you how stable it is, how it is a "major airline", just about anything to justify (to themselves and others) as to why they are still there. Granted the industry is unsafe right now to go hopping around to various airlines, but I wouldn't and didn't want to make a "regional" airline my career airline.
Eagle is an OK place to work at(as far as some of the pilots and flight attendants, and a SMALL handful of Management types), and a place where you can build FO and Total time, but they have a LONG LONG history of LONG upgrade times, and I wouldn't count on that changing anytime soon. As for my personal experience there, I had the opportunity to upgrade THREE times at eagle, and each time that opportunity was taken away from me at the last moment (BizEx buyout, 911, and AA flowbacks). So that and a couple of other personal reasons drove me out of the industry.
If you aspire to get onto a "real" airline, or at least be able to apply to a "real" airline (requiring sufficient 121 PIC time) I would go somewhere that offers quicker upgrades. Yes those types of places are (maybe) a little riskier as far as the company's stability, but if I was to do it again, I would take that risk rather than sitting in purgatory for 6 to 10 years as the dummy in the right seat.
You NEED the 121 PIC time if you want to move on in your pilot career. I have several friends who got into the flying business after I did, and they ALL went the way of the quick upgrade type companies, and they ALL are now flying for good companies (SWA, UPS, AirTran).
In the end, it comes down to what you want and what you expect of your pilot career path. Good luck.
