Albertsons Flight Ops Info Needed
Does anyone have information regarding Albertsons flight ops? Someone told me they merged with Boise Inc. (formerly Boise Cascade) but I can't find them at BOI. Another told me they shutdown when Supervalu (sic) bought them out.
Thanks!

I used to fly for Boise Cascade and in turn Albertsons. All the pilots, mechanics and aviation department personnel were Boise Cascade employees. Boise Cascade had their airplanes (Falcon 50's) and Alberstons had theirs, (Falcon 50's and and a Falcon 900). Alberston's owned the hangar facility where all airplanes for both companies were kept, and we crewed their airplanes for them under contract. Albertson's never had any aviation department personnel just airplanes. This contract was in place for many years between the 2 companies. Unfortunately Boise Cascade sold all their airplanes and then Albertson's was purchased by Super Value (who has their own aviation department in MN) and so those airplanes were no longer needed.
Super Value keeps one Citation 650 in Boise now, but that is it. So in answer to your question there is no longer a Boise Cascade/Albertson's aviation department as of early 2007. The Alberston's stores you do see are now under New Albertson's LLC as I understand and there is no aviation department affiliated.
It was a great place to work, to bad it ended.
Hope this helps.

re: Boise Cascade/ Albertsonss
I ran across your posting quite by accident....I flew for BC 2003-2005, was the last new hire, just prior to the first 50 getting put on the block--the beginning of the end of Boise/ Albertson's. I've flown corporate for 20+ years, and have never, nor will I ever fly for a better corporate flight department. Don't know who you are--we probably flew together (those who flew for BC rarely quit)...Hope you are well--KW
(PS--have you any contact info for John Chambers? reply to [email protected]--thanks)
