Owner sells Hawker...
We closed today on the Hawker I've been flying for 4 years. I think the main reason he got rid of it is because of the maintenance of Hawkers is ridiculous... Always something! Has anybody actually pulled through with convincing their principal to now buy something newer, slower, less expensive to operate? I'd like some insight... great guy to work for and he needs a plane!!!
Thanks in advance.

Flew and worked on 1A's,700's, and 800's.
Maintenance intensive is probably a better term.
Our Sovereigns (on MSG-3) have a 160 items on a complete
Inspection cycle. As I remember the Hawkers
have well over 600 and numerous x-rays.
Gear overhauls and the inevitable corrosion
Really ratchet up the costs.
Find something newer on a MSG-3 (or similar)
Maintenance program.

Upgraded from the Beechjet in 2008, which was right before I came on board.
