What is the current price if you wanted to buy a G55o type? I have to believe it's up there...

$58K? Wow. 777 advertised for $18K. Designee said his company was charging about $15K for Boeing type ratings.

Supply and demand. There are just a few more boeings flying around than there are Globals. There are also a ton of places to get a Boeing type and only a handful of ones to get a Global type.

Yes, but I dont see how what a 777 rating cost or other boeing types cost is relevant to the cost of a Global or GV type?
If you went out and got a 777 type what would you do with it? Where if you went out and got a Global or GV type with it you could actually put it to use.

I'd be willing to bet that the cost of construction of the simulators are close. The 777 sim being covered mostly by the parent airline and the GV by the clients. The same for the facility that houses the sim and the classrooms, the development costs of the courseware and everything else.

The cheapest type is a 737 because every Tom, Dick and Harry is pumping the type for Southwest. None of those folks own their sims except for clapped out -200 ones.

Maybe go work for some of ACMI operators out there..
In a few years, when there are 25-777 sims out there, it'll be $10,000 for the type as well, just like 747s, Citations, and King Airs.

Nothing to do with Global or GV's. Just an observation about the difference is price.

What could you do with a 777 type? Guys transitioning from 737 to 777. After the rating ride they had job offers in Asia. Pass ride = fly to Asia. Fail ride = don't go to Asia.
