The Captains I fly with use the seatbelt sign like the airlines but no one really seems to care, just like the airlines. I'm not a big fan of using it since most clients that fly charter or corporate are smart enough to figure it out that its too bumpy to stand up. If I know it's going to be bad I'll go back ahead of time and give them a little heads up. It's just annoying to have that ding go on and off if people are trying to sleep.
I'm also curious how corporate flight departments use the cabin signs

Most people who ride around on corporate jets are smart enough to know to sit down when it's bumpy and while taking off and landing. We use our fasten belts sign to alert our flight attendant that we're taking off and to prepare for landing. Most others I know do the same.

I give the pax a chime when cleared for takeoff and also when decending out of FL180. This is just to give them heads up to ready for landing. But I also use it as a CYA when it gets bumpy, not that the pax pay attention.

We use them, but mostly as a signal for the flight attendant and sterile cockpit. I'll still turn them on if I expect it will get bumpy just as a heads up to the passengers and FA, but nobody is going to yell at the pax if they get up to use the lav.

Turn it on when cleared to taxi. Off passing 10k unless really bumpy. Back on descent through 10. A double bell when cleared to takeoff, and a double ding when cleared to land.
Not to hijack the thread, but how many of you will normally go back and check on the pax during the trip. I fly with one guy that will do it on a 30 minute leg, and another that won't do it on a 5 hour leg. We don't carry an attendant.

I leave the sign on all the time from engine start to engine shutdown. Seems like the pax always disregard the sign and get up whenever they feel like it. This way I'm covered if they bump their head in turbulence. Of course I always make sure they are seated before takeoff or landing.
As far as checking on pax, for me, it varies. Depends on the impression I get of their demeanor(s) as they board, as well as the length of the trip and time of day.
