Default withholding training records?

Can anyone please tell me if CAE/Flight Safety can withhold training records if told to do so per the company? Or does the PRIA say other wise?

Thanks

PDpilot2011,

I dont think CAE Simuflite can be held to PRIA requirements since they are not a 121 or 135 air carrier, but I personally think you have a right to your records anyway. On the FAA website, there is an extensive advisory circular on pria you could research.

Agreed. Did they tell you that they were not going to release them? I know that any training pre-05' or so is not available since they switched from paper to electronic records @ CAE.

They did say that, they would "not" release the training records per the company's request. It just doesn't seem legal and I have read PRIA to see if I could gain any info I wasn't aware of.

If the company paid for your training, they own the records. FSI and CAE both send the training records directly to the company rep (usually the Chief Pilot). They do usually provide you with some sort of verification (logbook sticker).

There is certainly no legal obligation under the FARs for them to give you the records nor do they have to reply to PRIA on an employers behalf.

Don't know about CAE, but FSI has an online portal where I have access to and can download copies of my training certificates.

FlyerJosh, you are correct, but here in Asia under a CAAC license, your license gets signed by either a company instructor or chief pilot..not sure because its in Chinese.
I am just wondering what I will have to do when I return home to the U.S. and a company asks for my training records. I think the only thing I may have to show is my CAAC license, if CAE Dubai doesn't release records.
