Default Intl Ops Course

Looking for your experience and opinions on the best "real world" Intl Ops course and who the provider is.

I have gone through the CAE Intl Ops course and it was good, but not real world stuff.

Thinking who gives info on:
- Diff regional operations
- Security concerns
- OCONUS MX logistics
- Regional Avionics/Equip requirements
- Permit/Visa/Docs requirements
- Etc

Thanks

Just don't go to Scott IPC. You'll hear people say it's the best and, true, Scott is extremely knowledgable. He isn't a particularly good instructor though and his online course is like something a 5th grader threw together.

International Flight Resources

Highly recommend Guy, his company is the above link. Will tailor his course to your individual needs. Can't say if he's cheaper or not than others but can vouch for the quality of his training. He does numerous training evolutions for flight departments and flies internationally for a major carrier, so knows the "real world" stuff you're after.

I also did CAE and was underwhelmed, Guy is much better.

ATI seems to have a good name....
A great way to learn is to do it awhile, then take a site visit to a place like Jepp or Universal and sit down with the planners while they plan a few trips. You can learn alot looking over their shoulder as they plan a 50 flights a day and process the changes that happen....Its very fast paced and they are very efficient and teach you how to process slots in real time, see the overflight process. Well worth it.

I'll second the ATI recommendation. Here's the link: Home
Dave Stohr has tons of real world experience as does Mitch Launius. Mitch has done ADS-C/CPDLC crossings himself and is very up to date with all the latest changes to oceanic and international ops.

They'll come to you or you can go there. They also have a big library of info as well as lots of recorded webinars you can access online.

Do you know if these are AA guys or DFW based corporate gents?
I feel it makes a difference on who they work for.
Thanks

Dave is a former Air Force Gulfstream driver from D.C. and Mitch is former Army Gulfstreams in D.C. and was corporate for 20 or so years with a couple of different companies.

Watching the ATI online is the equivalent of watching paint dry. That being said, anytime I have a question or concern all I have to do is pick up a phone to speak with them. You won't find a more knowledgeable staff on Intl' ops.
