Default Erickson Aviation

Does anyone have information on Erickson Aviation? Any comments will help. I applied to a fixed-wing position and excited to move back to the PacNW and would love to learn more about Erickson. Thanks in advance.

years ago they came to my A&P school looking for techs, and I was oh so close to taking a job. It seemed like excellent experience on heavy turbine helos that you can't get outside of the military. If I were in my 20's again I'd take a wrenching or flying position without a second thought, but hindsight is always 20/20. I don't have any inside info, but good luck, I don't see how getting a gig there would be a bad thing.

I know about the company they replaced; Evergreen. Are you talking about the CASA-212 position listed? I remember Evergreen had a position listed for that same airframe with the location being The Philippines or something like that. It doesn't say on that post, but the schedule of 6wks on/off would make sense for a job overseas.

I applied for the Beech 1900 vacancy in early December. Haven't heard anything. Bummer.

Yeah, there have been news stories about their massive debt due to acquisitions. Chapter 11 isn't great for most parties, but it may be harder on the vendors than an the pilots.

Not sure what Erickson was going to pay for their 1900, but Ameriflight has bases in PDX and BFI that may interest you.

Erickson just lost a helicopter on a fire in Australia. An S64 went down a couple of days ago in a resorvoir. All three crew got out and swam to shore with minor injuries.
