Default Bottle to Throttle

Greetings all. Just curious to hear what your company rules are with regard to alcohol consumption before a flight, both on the road and at home base. If you would also note if you work for an individual or company (Fortune XXX or small business), and if the time is based on show time or scheduled takeoff time. Here's ours:

Part 91 Fortune 500. 10 Hours prior to scheduled takeoff time from both home base and on the road. No drinking till 1700 local on the road, or if not on a scheduled Hard Day Off at home.

Thanks much.

If the problem is bad enough, you might consult darcy White down in the Pilot Health section. I believe he has an STC (Or Field Approval) for an ignition interlock in his Cub. I realize your probably flying heavier iron, though he might be a good place to start. Regardless, I'm not really sure why he had it installed, as he was always having his dog Cheeto blow in the tube for him, which kind of defeated the whole purpose...

Part 91 Jet - 10 hours prior to scheduled takeoff, at home or on the road. Boss agrees to give us at least 24 hours notice prior to any unscheduled flying - so it's never a problem.
