Nice Bottle
Sitting on the sidelines, watching threads like the CAL Chairman recommending PAs separating the pilot groups, as well as other threads.
Once again the management team is sitting in their offices with a nice bottle of scotch laughing at ALPA. After 25 years in ALPA it actually continues to amaze me how we implode, divide ourselfs, destroy ourselves and sit there for years with a lousy Contract mad at working "under these conditions".
ALPA is nothing more than a loose group of pilot groups that will cut each others throats to gain one seniority number. It is NOT a union, don't fool yourselfs.
Maybe it's time that UAL and CAL pilots and "union" leaders pull their collective heads out of their self centered a&&es and actually work together for the good of the group!
Otherwise, the scotch will flow and we will be "confused", again. History continues to repeat.
We are creating out own misery.

47dog,
I think the heart of the MEC message was not to show that it is "us CAL pilots against UA pilots" or were better and so forth, but that this merger is sucking and we are looking for ways, however small, to relay that to the customers. The idea is that it will ripple to the BOD, Wall Street and etc...
FYI...we had a pilot bulletin to come out and tell us to stop saying the CAL name on PAs after our union put this out. Mgmt is watching and they didn't like this from the union which causes me to like this idea. Maybe UA should do the same?
To let you know, I look forward to becoming one list to make this pilot group better, whole and stronger. I have been here 5 years and if we fail epically at this opportunity, then I plan on moving on to another career. Next 25 years won't be worth it.

Before we start blasting the CAL MEC Chairman, let's give him a chance to demonstrate his leadership at either or both CEO Exchanges in ORD,11/29@10:00lcl or IAD,11/30@10:00lcl. Should be a big group of pilots at both and the UAL MEC Chairman is likely to be at one or both.
You think we are in charge as pilots, we have an image that we are so important. We are just hourly employees.

The post wasn't "blasting" the CAL Chairman. The post was "blasting" alpa and pilots in general. We continue to do the same thing, day after day, year after year, contract after contract.

Another to add is the parking brake....new meaning for "on time zero"
Somewhere along the line we became less proactive and expected the MEC to do everything.
When we start taking the best course of action individually, the results will speak for themselves.
(and speaking of Bingo, remember, a diversion is not a failure.......)
