Did somebody claim masks don't help? Oh yeah, it was CDC, but they were only kidding at the time.

Because that was the common belief at the time among medical professionals. Everyone I know who is a medical professional told me masks wouldn't help, I did my own research and it seemed logical a single 0.1 micron virus could get through an N95 and infect me, so I parrotted it as well. When I saw enough counter evidence, I changed my mind. And whatever efforts went into that CDC statement, 10x the efforts have gone into undoing it. The horse is dead. Like, really, really dead. Like, it's-already-been -sent-to-the-glue-factory dead

But I would feel pretty bad if I unknowingly had the virus and passed it on to my friends or loved ones, all because I was too selfish to wear a mask.

And yet, somehow it's become a macho symbol. "I don't need no mask, I'm healthy, you can't tell me what to do." The level of selfishness and entitlement in this attitude is pretty astonishing.

I dunno. I guess some people just don't give a *** about others. It's just that simple.

You mean those chin warmers I keep seeing people wearing?

Which is worse? No mask at all or wearing a reuseable, cloth bacteria catcher only covering a person's mouth and chin? Damn near half of the imbeciles I see wearing "face coverings" are wearing them incorrectly. It's kinda like wearing your underwear such that your johnson is dangling over the top of the waistband....

All the studies that claim such "effectiveness" of face coverings don't account for the laughable materials and techniques utilized by the majority of the sheep.

Here's a tip: if you really want people to start wearing masks, you should probably keep opinions like these to yourself.

Do whatever you like, dude. Maybe you'll infect your family. Maybe you won't. I couldn't care less.

Theoretically you release more aerosols from deep breathing (running, panting) and talking than just breathing calmly through your nose.

Someone just covering their mouth is far less than ideal, but it's better than nothing. What's really disheartening to me is when they take off their mask to sneeze.

I agree. Although I wonder how long before these goofballs start making it on the news for refusing to wear masks on airplanes?

I think I just saw an article about that -- airlines are starting to enforce mask policies.

I give it five minutes (okay, ten) before someone gets on an airplane and asks if they can just wear one of the O2 masks the whole flight....

I saw that too, basically there will be a passenger banned list for mask non-compliance. Excellent move for sure.

Just happened to me the other day. I get a call from the cabin while holding short for takeoff. Two passengers took their mask off and were refusing to put it back on despite two PA's from the FA. The other passengers around them were getting upset and rowdy. I set the parking brake and luckily the FA did an amazing job at discreetly going back there and getting them to comply before tensions escalated and without the need for us to intervene from the cockpit or worse have to return to the gate.

And supposedly we're the people who don't care about others.

Do me a favor and find the post where I said I won't wear a mask and they don't work. Or just keep making my points for me, whichever is easier for you.

We just got a memo on this from our company. They must be allowed to remain onboard but we're instructed to file a report, so sounds like there's indeed going to be a ban list for future travel...
