Long term care facilities are a pretty good environment to determine if vaccination prevents infection.

Early indications are the rate of infection in LTC facilities has dropped at an even faster rate than the nation as a whole over the last few weeks. That shouldn't be a surprise given efforts to vaccinate LTC residents, but that helps show the effectiveness of vaccination.

Also, Israel is looking pretty good as a large-scale vaccination case study.

Right on cue...

Trial results shownAstraZeneca vaccine provides up to 67% decrease in transmission.

Apparently, not so great if you're over 65. At least according to France...

Default Vaccine Development Summary

The EU is making the United States vaccination campaign look REALLY good right now...

Its not that AZ doesn’t work for elderly... its just some countries don’t think there is enough data to prove that it does despite the European Medicines Agency approving it for all adults AND good early data coming out of the UK.

Again...absence of evidence is not evidence of absence and the alternative is what, very little vaccine for the statistically most vulnerable demographics?

Yes, it's looking very good and that's important because it's a large-scale real-world application (vice a more controlled clinical trial), and the UK variant is prevalent over there.

92% effective, with zero hospitalizations.
