I find it absolutely comic we have vaccines and even head medical groups such as the WHO telling countries to stop travel bans and lockdowns for MONTHS, only for countries to go rogue and make their own decision making. The funniest **** ever has to be them stating they are making these decisions based on science, but when they first learn about a new variant they have NO science or data to go off of and then make said decisions IMMEDIATELY. Like any of this contains the spread?! Because being indoors is WORSE!

You just can't make it up! And it's 2 years into the pandemic! My spouse and I had a European trip planned in March, scratch that. I'm not wasting my time with loony covid destinations, we are going to the beach now. I suspect a lot of travelers feel this way. I hope all these loonatic countries doing this stuff have serious financial pain to realize their mistakes. It's the only way these places will open their eyeballs to what they're doing.

Good luck to y'all overnighting there.

I had a 3 week trip to northern Europe planned for summer 2020. Rescheduled to 2021 and 2022 now. Ended up in the mountain west both summers, beaches sounds like a nice change of pace. Well at least I'm buyin' Merican. A new boat might be the fix this summer!

Wink to pass it if you currently have it, blink to pass it if you don’t, bark twice if you’re in Milwaukee.

It's more sad than funny, decisions are being made based on Political Science, not Medical Science.

The classic Fire, Ready, Aim! Thankfully domestic demand has remained far more resilient.

You're more than welcome to come to Florida and spend your hard earned $$$. We'll welcome you. No masks, no jab passports, no papers required - everything is open.

I'd recommend the west coast of Florida over the east coast. Better beaches and resorts. People way laid back.

Also just purely statistically speaking even if less severe a virus that is 15 times more transmissible can actually kill more people and send more people to the hospital. That’s the unfortunate reality. Less dangerous on an individual level agreed but statistically way more people will get it. You’re right in that the general direction of viruses are to mutate to being less severe but this isn’t a guaranteed certainly. Not ALL viruses do that just most. Delta was shown to actually be slightly more severe than Alpha. Before I get attacked for fear mongering or whatever I’m just saying that specifically to what will happen with lock downs and all that I think you could see more of it purely based on higher hospitalization numbers. Not saying it WILL but it’s possible. Again just purely based on way more people getting it. I have come around to the thought however that lockdowns at this point are not worth it. I did see that they are already seeing a slight decline in cases in South Africa so hopefully this thing runs hot and fast and peters out. A few more waves and then yes I agree it becomes closer to the common cold
