I keep me safe.

If this is the path we want to go down, it begs the question of countless other laws that "Keep you safe." What's inextricably linked to covid, and nearly all health matters? Obesity.
"Off the couch tubby, time for some government gym time, we're keeping you safe! By the way, where's your gratitude?"

How much illness would be mitigated and how much hospitalization space would we free up mandating exercise or legally penalizing a lack thereof?

Well, I personally don't want my insurance premiums covering unvaxed fatsos. And right wing extremist qanons don't want their insurance premiums covering leftard nanny-state thots. Since we can't agree, we need a powerful government to tell us what to do.

You may need a powerful government telling you what to do, the rest of us do just fine.

Ever changing goalposts. That's NOT how the vaccine was originally sold to the public. It was claimed to prevent Covid, until the narrative shifted. Then it was two shots to be fully protected. Until it wasn't. Then it was one booster in addition to the two shots. Now a second booster is getting recommended... and none of it prevents Covid.

The new narrative will shift as they see it fit to. And you'll continue to lap it up.

Also, according to current admin chief, if you're vaccinated you don't have to wear a mask.
