Will be out 4 Nov. 50/50 split on Cseries between LAX and NYC. That's the plan before it changes again.

Why the delay? Are they waiting for the FAA certification of the training program? And did this info come from Top Men?

It came from asking as any pilot can do. I did not ask why the delay.

This seems like a 'rolling delay' to buy some time...get plan B figured out. Typically on the eve of a new aircraft roll out, there is a lot of information about routes, bases, delivery schedules, etc. Practically nothing so far on that. Doesn't sound like confidence is very high about EIS.

I'm concerned for the company that we'd go ahead with this plane with so much still hanging in the balance.

I mean I'm sure we could seamlessly absorb the 220% hit by taking it out of the money burning buybacks, but they probably will not do that under any circumstance, even if it harms the company to continue them.

At this point, I'd cancel the C (along with a same day announcement by Canada and UK to cancel all BA civil and defense deals) and place an Airbus order (at VERY special terms, which I'm sure they'll be happy to do). Then I'd comment about how BA is preventing greener technology from saving the planet. Then end the press release about how grateful BA should be because we are such a large and important customer of theirs and we look forward to a long relationship with them, as we send Top Men to Toulouse to see how they can further help us with our fleet complexity problem and carbon footprint that we were so responsibly trying to reduce.

You know....that carbon footprint thingy may be the argument that breaks the 'competing product' argument.

I wonder if anybody has put it on the table?

I still like the ownership route. JV for aircraft development and manufacturing. If we own the manufacturer we could import to any of our "partners" and then lease the aircraft. Maybe Airbus becomes more interested with some incentive or 3 way partnership.
