No More Alcohol on Deadheads?
#21
Ah okay, I got it. Do they think a deadheader should be ready to take the plane at all times if deadheading? How about if they're deadheading on equipment they aren't trained on? Are pilots paid the same and have the same rest/duty day requirements while deadheading? They should be very clear on expectations. Is it in the contract that you must be appropriately rested for a deadhead flight, and ready to take command at all times?
Honestly, it just sounds like some idiot doesn't like the thought of people deadheading in first class/business class, and enjoying a nice, relaxing flight. Maybe next, he'll find a reason to ban you guys from watching movies and eating the meals.

Quite right. Which is why this policy will only apply to line swine flight crews. All the other employees who DH around, including managers, can drink their face off. Because 'Safety'.

Hey, if it's apparent to me, it's obvious to you. I love Delta, deadhead on them all the time (FedEx).
Our management changes tactics every now and then. I appreciate our current group. When we are treated well, respectfully, we will bend over backwards to get the job done. It actually doesn't take much. But when we are threatened, treated like children...we react very poorly. It is opposite of the desired effect.

That'd be great, considering we could have pilots putting their job at risk next week if the policy isn't crystal clear. This is unlike anything I've ever seen here. It's almost reckless.
