Let’s hope the 797 has none of the 737 and a whole lot of the 757.

And a side stick. 28 pounds lighter already!

Of course they will.....they have a costco sized stockroom full of them.

All manufactured in 1957.

Isn't this thing more 762? What is a mom jet really?

There already exists a middle of the market aircraft, it’s called the A321neo LR.

Boeing is just going to further bastardize the 737. There would already be a middle of market aircraft if they were interested or capable.
Boeing is planning a clean sheet aircraft that likely is a twin aisle. Airbus is proposing a bastardized version of the A321 as a potential response. As pointed out in the article the ability to carry cargo is critical for these markets and the airbus offering would not have much if any capability for cargo.

So one is available soon and the other has 15 years and 15B to go before it catches fire mid flight? Hmm.

Looks like it's 737-size.

The most important question: Will Boeing stay in the 1970's or finally install a side-stick?

If people keep on posting internal employee messages (like was done in this forum recently and is directly attributed in the article), I think we're going to stop getting information from the company that isn't going to be directly released to the general public at the same time.

Mini 787. Give them credit if they use that hard fought technology in a different jet
