Often I find guys complaining that it doesn't do X...then I show them that it does in fact do X.

That said, I still have issues with it that I would to see addressed. Some have already been fixed and I assume most of the others will be fixed relatively soon.

No offense taken. I'd wager if you asked 100 40+ year old men if they know how to clear the cache on Chrome maybe 10 know how to do it, and probably 1 in 1000 knows you can clear it for a single web page at a time. I googled how to do it and still can't figure it out, and I build windows computers as a hobby. I don't want to require knowledge that .1% of the population might know (and get this knowledge on my own time/dime) in order bid my schedule each month.

disclaimer: all statistics 100% made up but they help my argument...

Clearing the cache and cookies is not a skill that is so foreign, only a fraction of a percent knows how to do it. And if you don't know how to clear the cache for a single website, doing it for the whole browser is a complete non-issue.

...so you're constantly clearing your cache...got it.

NavBlue (web app version) is still around? I gave up on that POS a while back. I used it a for couple of months, but was always frustrated with how much more work it was than other options.

They should just put that thing down and try again with a team that has some history of getting things right.

Just googled clearing cache for individual websites on mac, and within a minute I had a detailed (screenshots) step-by-step instructions to delete cache. I know for some that's a bridge too far, but life does come with some assembly required.

I think you overestimate the quality of the PBS bidding products out there. Talked with a buddy on the AAL PBS committee who recently got to test all of major PBS programs out there...he wishes they'd have chosen Navblue. That's not to say it doesn't have it's faults...maybe they should collaborate with the EZBid guys.

There is one HUGE difference between EasyBid and NavBlue. EasyBid is a program to enter a bid and upload it to NavBlue. In NavBlue the pilot can enter a bid and the company can run the program and produce pilot schedules. EasyBid is a very good interface. NavBlue is a scheduling a program.

I've tried explaining that to some guys and they just look at me like I have broccoli growing out of my forehead.

The discussion was regarding the Chrome browser, not Safari. If you research how to do it on the company iPad using Chrome, you’ll find it’s not so easy. I haven’t been able to figure out how to do it. I don’t think it’s possible in the iPad version of Chrome(the recommended browser for use with NavBlue.). Desktop version of the browser is different.

It's much easier to not actually read the post and hurl insults.

Ok so iPad with Chrome, they seem to not give you the option to clear single website data, but it does give you the option to uncheck saved passwords, browsing history and autofill data, which should clear up most peoples issues with clearing cache. You can clear individual site data in safari on an iPad but I know the PBS committee recommends Chrome.

Like I said in my previous post it's not necessarily directed just at you, rather the general attitude I've seen toward it. No insult intended and I apologize if that's how you took it, but it's really just the truth for many out there. Most guys I've flown with (are not on SM) actually don't have a problem. The ones who are the loudest haters are the one that are unwilling to even lift a finger to help themselves or even read the publications put out for them. It's new and didn't work perfectly the first time they tried it in it's infancy, so it's a POS.

Once you explain to them why cache clearing is a important (for offline viewing, etc...) or that it can actually easily do things they say it can't, they'll "generally" start to open up. I usually just give up trying to help when they say why don't we just dump Navblue and go with EZBid. Also remember that PBS is paid from by the company, and operated by a company that has many clients. If we want to see drastic improvements then we need the union to pressure the company to provide mo money$$$.
