Buffalo comes to mind as a perfect example. Downtown BUF is pretty dead. I had a 30 hour layover there last November. Ther is nothing to do. I’m sure there are some nice suburbs that would be a much better place to layover that’s not right at the airport, but not downtown either. Although I remember when we laid over by the airport and there was plenty to do there also.

I recall the theater district where they put us up in Buffalo as being alright. I'd just be happy if our buffer for downtown hotels was the same as the flight attendants. A long drive to the hotel for a mere 12-13 hours doesn't worthwhile. Maybe this mid hotel will help in that regard.

Love it and have been talking about this for years. Even 14 or 15 hours doesn't make sense if its late night arrival or a super early getup. We are a different pilot group who doesn't go to the movies or bars as much. With WIFI, computers, Netflix etc, we can entertain ourselves just as easy closer to the airport. A place to eat, workout room and wifi. Thats about all I need most of the time

I guess you didn't want to get your white New Balances' dirty.
