Time for a new phone. Im wondering what you guys find works best in Europe and Aisa for phone service. Any advice? Im a frugle pilot so price matters. Google Fi looks like a good deal but im wondering if anyone out has tried it yet. Ive heard T mobile data can be slow internationally.

TMobile overseas (outside of Canada or Mexico) is reduced to EDGE speeds. It’s pretty slow but for an extra $10 per month, they upgrade it to TMobile One Plus and they double your speed. They also extend the free WiFi on Gogo to the whole flight. Data passes can be purchased overseas to increase speeds to LTE temporarily.

IPhone? "Green" measages (typically android) won't come through on Wifi, but iMessages- "blue" ones sent by other apple products DO come through over Wifi.
