“Welcome aboard” harkens back to nautical days and is short and sweet.

“SBREF” is cliche and lazy.

I use it. Any suggestions for a non-cliche, non-lazy go to? "Howdy partners go ahead and get yer chillax posture on" is what i'm thinkin' at the moment.

Good morning/afternoon/evening. Our flight time to ___ is ___. We will keep you informed on anything that may affect our arrival time. Thank you for flying with Delta.

I don't think anyone should have to say "This is a non smoking flight" or "this flight is completely full" EVER AGAIN

Why do you have to tell someone to relax?

It's superfluous.

I welcome them aboard (not "onboard" -- WTF is that?)

I introduce my FO and myself using last names (when doctors introduce themselves as "Mike" then I'll use my first name, until then appropriate decorum.)

I tell them the flight time, expected ride, any possible delays and even the runway in case there are any afficianadoes back there.

It takes 15s. If I added, "Sit back, relax, and enjoy the flight," it would add an unnecessary 2.8s expose me as lazy and cliche.

Heard this on an AS flight and smiled:
"We invite you to sit back, relax.. or upright and tense. Your choice".

OK, what kind of PA would you like to make? (Assume it’s the last flight of your career and you are in a bad mood).

Sit down, shut up, and enjoy the flight!
