Quote: Someone asked bob on sky hub where the 330 positions were going and he said mostly Seattle.
He also said the rest would be MSP

Biggest AE of the year coming and this is on page 2? Unacceptable! What are top men saying now? The 88 plan has to change every few hours, so what’s the latest? How many of those new A spots are going to ATL?

Go on skyhub and watch the videos from Network and Crew Resources. That will explain everything, no need to scour forum sites for rumors.

I like rumors. Makes for something to talk about at cruise!

I’m with you. Plus anything on skyhub is subject to change at any point just like always.

I predict that Atlanta will shrink overall on this AE with the displacements off the dog. The other bases will grow relatively and it will allow some surprisingly junior WB B and NB A awards in NY and DTW.

I also think that enough guys are going to bid off the dog that there will be vacancies for new hires.

I think it’s been stated pretty clearly on SkyHub that they intend to keep ATL level at 5000 pilots.

I think they said “around” which is pretty open to interpretation. In the grand scheme 14,500 is “around” 5,000. I mean there are zeros and a five in each. And they’re even consecutive in both.

I personally expect them to close all other bases to consolidate in atl. It’s the most immune to weather events and data center fires after all. And everyone wants to live in hotlanta anyways. I’d say it’s looking nearly definite.

I may be a little tired from that zero dark thirty wake up. And bored. My apologies.

I think they will do whatever they have to do to minimize secondary displacements, whether it be Atlanta or elsewhere. They may allow themselves to get heavy in a category or two. The name of the game right now for them is not having a training crisis. With the amount of retirements and movement coming, no overage in a fat category will last all that long.

If ATL shrinks, hopefully it will only be because some commuters chased the WB slots in other bases. I think the company displacing a bunch of ATL pilots would just shoot themselves in the foot.

If you watch the updates by Bob Schmelzer he says after the April AE ATL will be down to around 4600 pilots. He expects on future AE’s to increase that number back up to 5000 pilots and should remain at that number.
