Was last year's big bid a May 1 conversion? Meaning a lot of pilots are going to miss being released from their seatlocks by one month?

Would have to look at when the 2017 MOAB was since the seat locks are 24 months, but probably a way to really control awards.

No more rumors until after the merger.

The 2017 "MOAB" was awarded in May of 2017.

In theory, anyone with a 24 month seat-lock from that AE will be ineligible for the next rumored March/April AE. Even an April AE would likely post an "earliest conversion date" of May 2nd, 2019 (beginning of May bid period) and the May 2017 AE was awarded mid month (see 22.A.7.c).

However, the company always has the ability to declare you eligible regardless of a seat freeze (again, see 22.A.7.c) so bid it if you want it. You might just get an award regardless of seat-freeze.

That's been around since they just prior to announcement of the C10 basing. In fact, I think it was there before you could load SLC C10, which makes since considering the last minute switch to SLC.
