Application submitted mid 2013, interview invite received September 2018.

From the head of Delta Crew Resources within the last week, 750 new hires from now until March 2020, then projecting a need for around 90 per month after that.

Those two estimates can go together.

2019: 210 + 280 = 490

2020 (Jan-Mar): 750 - 490 = 260

Apparently the latest staffing meeting adjusted hiring to 25 per month.
Reevaluate in Jan 2020.

Wow. Thats crazy if true since that won't even keep up with retirements this year.

It’s not what they put out at the NYC brief.

According to the company’s published notes from the ATL base visit yesterday, hiring for CY 2019 was stated as 40/month for Q1, 25/month for Q2 and a total for the year of approximately 600. That would make it about 68/month for Q3 and Q4. Nothing was mentioned about the 25/month extending beyond Q2 and the part about no reevaluating until Jan 2020 is contrary to what BS has stated in his updates where he talked about their decisions on hiring amounts being firmed up via much shorter intervals ( ie only a few months out at a time) to maximize training throughput.

Yes, downsizing due to over-staffing

The new fearless leadership seems to be bent over on AA flying 100 aircraft more with the same (as DAL) number of active pilots.
Vicariously living the dream of "just imagine how out profits will be then"!!
They should see how much AA pilot love working there, but time will tell. Always does. Hopefully all it takes is just a couple of weeks
