Also there are times where there’s enough seats on the plane for everybody. It would be nice to be seated in comfort +, window or isle vs getting a middle seat at the end of the plane because you had to wait until the end.

You’re trying to play both ends. List as a non rev then and cancel your JS listing.

I get the jumpseat v nonrev angst but I won’t pander to it. The lack of stress I have from “owning” the jumpseat listing far outweighs not sitting in a middle seat while junior/OALs get first or C+. It’s the price of doing business as a commuter. I need to minimize stress as a commuter, not add it. And I even own my own safety vest that *gasp* I paid for myself!

Then it fills up for whatever reason and by the time you realize it you're inside the cutoff and there goes the OAL pilot down the jetbridge in your place.

There's no reason why we shouldn't be able to "dual list" under today's tech when the old paper/computer system allowed it.

Funny you should say this, years ago when our jumpseat listing started showing up on the non rev list the stated reason was that when the computer got to you on the list you could take a seat or the jumpseat. They actually said that it would run through seat, cockpit jumpseat then FA jumpseat if available without you having to do a thing. That never panned out and we have the system that we have today.

That makes sense. So basically IT didn’t got it to work?

We should be able to checkin with the JS PNR. This would be also good for the agents, they won’t have to deal with us checking in or asking to list us as non-rev.

You can't check in yourself for a jumpseat because you have to be verified. Listing for a nonrev you can do yourself until within cutoff anyway.

Si. I was watching from my phone at the airport. I boarded 15 minutes prior to departure and S3 was given the seat well before. First world problem. But it's still BS.

Exact same thing happened to me. Keep writing them up I guess, I don't see how it gets fixed if we don't.

Other airlines can JS/Non-rev at the same time. The only reason we can't is because no one has lit a fire under IT to fix it.

Exactly. It should be as easy as...

Reserve the JS, use that PNR for check in as S2/S3. There’s a seat, you take it, if not JS issued automatically. Agent calls you and verify CASS picture and gives you P1/P2.

If you want to volunteer for JS or not enough seats, you can go before they are clearing NonRev pax and talk to the agent.
