If the Delta FAs had a union, we could stop being their de-facto negotiators. This creates potential for improving the PWA by removing the "me too" costing from negotiations.

You can get an amen.

Do it already. It’s only a matter of time.

Assuming they don't put "me too" in their contract. The dispatchers have a very robust me too clause with us and the non-cons

Great post and a great point. Shocking that DAL FA can stir the pot yet again with another pointless post. If you want all the perks of being a pilot DAL FA, then be a pilot! I personally would love to have all the perks that Ed Bastian has, stock options, first class travel, a robust compensation package... but guess what? I am a measly line pilot and not the CEO of the company.

You’re a flight attendant, you get the pay and benefits of a flight attendant. I’m a pilot, I get what my negotiating committee puts in our PWA. Simple as that. You want the option to get braces? Then either pay the amount out of pocket for the braces or go pay $100,000 and learn to fly, work at the regionals for a while, and then come back to Delta and get your braces under our prestigious DPMP Dental plan.

You are correct and incorrect at the same time. You aren't required to carry both as a package in that you can carry only medical without having to carry the dental, but you can't do it the other way around.

Pretty pompous comment. I'm sure the only reason they want to unionize is for braces

Not what I said in any way. I simply stated that those employee groups don't have as much as an incentive to unionize if the company gives them enough of what a union would give them on its own.

Let me phrase it another way. If all the FAs hated being non union so much, they would have voted AFA in last time. If they choose to unionize it is their decision, it didn't seem to be a big deal to the majority of them then and doesn't appear to be now.

Every other major FA group in the US has coverage for braces...

But we all know that your comment isn’t about what you say it is. It’s the ignorance of too many in the Delta pilot group that still think that being the only major group at Delta with a contract is actually a good thing for Delta pilots.
