The company had already acknowledged the other violations. This was the key point and the arbitrator ruled in the companies favor. I suspect they are very happy and relieved in ATL today.

And you're just an ostrich with their head in the sand?
The company messed up many times, and also messed up a ton this summer (understaffed, poor planning, illegal reroutes) just to name a few. Should we give them free pass??? No...
Negotiations are going poorly because they want to cap costs at 1% or under. We wont see a new contract for at least 2 years.
So I hope you enjoyed this past summer because as todays email stated they are hiring "enough" people for next summer. Only 900 for next year, sadly that will once again fall short of the actual staffing needs. They really need that 900 in the next 6 months, but that's just not going to happen... So I expect to be rerouted, Jr manned, and ALV's at 85hrs again starting next May. All this past summer taught them is that they could get away with their current staffing plan and say sorry after.

I truly don’t understand what your angle is...... The arbitrator has found that the company violated our scope again, yet you continue to spin a pro-company line and even seem to delight in OUR (forgive the caps) union’s perceived impotence.....

The company had acknowledged the violations in question. The only dispute that mattered was combining the Japan and Korean flying. That was the key for us going forward. We lost which means no matter how you spin it we lost the arbitration. The company is free to go forward with their business plan. Not a good day for us.

We are all paying for your concessions as management continues to redline.
Deadheads the same day as an ocean crossing now standard.
Net zero hiring and training.
I’m sure next summer will be rainbows and unicorns.
This is the best MEC, admin and negotiating committee we have ever had and it is killing you guys.
Our unity gets stronger with each passing day.

Trip7, after peeling back the onion on this topic, I see what you are saying. Thank you, and subsequently others, for pointing it out to the rest of us. I’m not happy with the union’s response to this. I’ll even go so far as to say I am disgusted.
BUT, I am also not happy/disgusted that the company violated section 1 even if they admitted the violation.. My displeasure with ALPA cannot ignore that. Can yours?
Denny Crane—has even labeled you as a management cheerleader. ‘Nuff said.

I am not a management cheerleader. I am a cheerleader of past DALPA Administrations who's tactics proved successful and lead the Delta Pilots to the top of the industry numerous times (C2K, C2012, TA2). Now we have an MEC Admin bombarded by TA2 No voters using the adversarial approach that rarely ever works combined with emotional, illogical and inflammatory rhetoric. Any neutral third party will side with management.
I'm vocal about this because I hate seeing the MEC Admin toying with the pilot group in order to stay in power while they keep getting no results. The spin and deception they continue to use is disgusting. You all saw it during the MBCBP Roadshows. Previous volunteers in the scheduling committee saw it and it resulted in mass resignations of highly skilled volunteers. Now you're seeing the deception again.
With the TA2 Admin you had Bill Belichick and his coaching staff. A veteran coach with a long track record of success (JM). Now we've replaced them with whatever coaching staff the Miami Dolphins have right now. We will keep getting blown out until the owner(Delta pilots) replaces the coaching staff.
This MEC Admin, their deception and overall tactics are a road to nowhere. However I believe most pilots like you will realize what they're doing and give the MEC enough support to remove them. This MEC Admin needs and will eventually receive a complete house cleaning. No amount of gzsg rhetoric will save them from that
Replace the Coaching Staff

Point of order.
A lot of panties, twisting, and wads here. A lot of hyperbole. If anybody is really interested in facts, start on page one, post 5. Seems like an accurate synopsis of the crux of the problem and arbiters judgment. In that one post, I'm not really seeing any cheerleading. Unfortunately, because some don't like the outcome, they resorted to character assassination
I submit, both sides(DALPA and Delta) are guilty of political posturing and over-hyping a story ....unfortunately, it seems 1 purveyor of "truth" was judged to be more accurate than another.
I wish the outcome would have been different....or the company refused to fix the violation when it surfaced....at least then my moral outrage could be amped up to the level desired by the union.....unfortunately.....pffft !
It appears that just because big "promises" are made....they don't necessarily morph into reality...sad but true.....in this one case.....I think that is the underlying sentiment that is being made by Trip7.
As a pilot and person, I want to be treated with respect. This applies to the company and the union....each pilot will judge the battlefield with their own unique perspective. Some are willing to drop a nuke in a pre- emptive first strike....others are more dovish and want to "negotiate" a resolution....I'll probably never know which tactic will/did result in max benefits cause the is no parallel universe
Cheers
