I was kind of hoping for a little more info in the Oct CR memo than “thank you”. It seems like they’ve used their 365 day bid for the year already, so the next AE likely won’t include the massive -88 displacements that are coming since they’ll need those bodies for the summer? So are they going to post a big AE and then have to displace a lot of those awards a few months later when the -88 landslides in ATL?

Yep, CR is in between a rock and a hard place.

They need to start filling up the sims soon (especially on the widebody fleets) but the 365 is already burned.

To say that they're behind the power curve is an understatement. And while they're shoving the throttles forward (increased hiring), network certainly isn't lowering the nose (slowed growth). Next summer will be interesting. The only thing that can bring this to a screeching halt is how Delta handles the new 'Airbus Tariffs'

Last rumor I heard (jump seater couple of days ago), as long as the 73max remains grounded, 321 deliveries behind, and 220 reliability and deliveries are poor/slow, (add latest 73 issues?), the Maddog is not going anywhere.

That is how are contract functions so it’s exactly what they are required to do if they will need additional bodies on the 88.

Sure are a lot of people working on the idea. The 350 purchase probably reduces the chances but it’s not dead.

Bring on the 350s. Much more comfortable for long haul flying. The sidestick is awesome for everything but takeoff and landing.

If you have a friend flying the 787 talk to him about. They all love how they feel after trips breathing pure humidified air and the low pressurization schedule.

Default Comair

Do you think Delta will hire a former Comair Pilot? Or is there too much tension?

It’s been done. Many times. There was a former Comair guy in my class in ‘08, and that’s when things were still fairly raw.
