Don't forget that non-contract employees got a 4% pay increase on 10/1. So that 3% is a bit low...i'd bump it up to 4% to account for that.

The pay didn’t start till 10/01, so I’d say the effect on the year would only be 1%.

Am I missing something?

Yes, they had a raise last Oct also. In addition we added employees year over year.
