Default Profit Sharing Pool Tracker for 2019

I know this comes up every quarter, so here’s where we are at YTD for those of you who are interested.

From Q1: “Delta is off to a solid start in 2019. Our March quarter performance demonstrates the power of our growing brand preference, our unmatched competitive advantages, and most importantly the Delta people who are committed to providing the best travel experiences for our customers every day. I’m pleased to recognize their efforts with $220 million toward next year’s profit sharing,” said Ed Bastian, Delta’s chief executive officer. “With the momentum in our business and our American Express contract renewal, we have increased confidence in achieving our full-year plan of top-line growth, margin expansion and double-digit earnings growth.”

From Q2: Accrued an additional $518 million in profit sharing and paid $26 million in Shared Rewards as a testament to the outstanding performance made possible by Delta’s more than 80,000 employees around the world.

From Q3: • Rewarded Delta people through an additional $517 million in profit sharing accrual and paid $12 million in Shared Rewards, recognizing the performance of Delta's more than 80,000 employees through a busy summer.

So.... YTD $220m+$518m+$517m for the first three quarters has a total profit sharing pool of $1.255 billion.

Let’s hope for a strong Q4!!

not to be the optimistic one, but last year the total pool was 1.3B, we're currently at 1.25B and we're through Q3. Correct me if I'm wrong?

The more precise numbers are $1.256 billion YTD and $1.301 billion total in 2018. Salary costs are up 3% so the numerator increases by 27% and the denominator increases by 3%. My guess is our percentage will be 17.85%.

optimism that it'll be greater than last years, which was 14%. Pessimism that it'll be less than 17.85%. I'm predicting low 16s
