Heard Skywest wasn't allowing JS by United pilots nor a flow back to open seats.

Heard it ended when United pilots who were denied the JS started taking names.....senior capt's with no desire to leave scaring the shiznit outta the FO's who want to bail at first opportunity worried they might be blackballed

Good to know that the FOM is only a suggestion at United and doesn't have to be followed. btw, that story of the SkyWest Captain denying a non-revving United CA was made up.

The FOM jumpseat priority could have been modified in 5 minutes by a bulletin. As it was UAL pilots were allowed prior and no change to the FOM was made. The FOM was smoke and mirrors period.
What the Skywest pilots fail to understand was when the ability of the Captain to offer the jumpseat was established by ALPA the very first tenant was that it never be politicized or used as a weapon regardless of relationships between pilot groups. Management still ultimately controls the jumpseat. If it creates issues for them it just might go away. The pilots who created the privilege of the jumpseat fully understood that concept. Sadly the Skywest pilots seem unable to grasp the issue.

So at United not only is it encouraged to ignore your FOM they also encourage pilots to not stand with their pilot group and Union. Got it.

It's quite simple skywest isn't union and they were sticking it to their union counterparts. Why we allow them their pilots to further their career with out being a union company is beyond me. Having been a part of a real union in the past this was verboten. You had to be a card carrying member to advance your career. I don't know why alpa allows this to happen but it just shows that alpa is more about the $ then they are about any union...

i think you fail to understand it wasn't a violation of your FOM...that was just the line SAPA was feeding you to get you on board.

So Greatmovie....since you want to weigh in ....on the Delta forum no less.....could you answer my questions that I brought up before.....here let me help you out and repost them again for you insight....

These are all Delta FOM violations BTW

False....I personally know a UAL WB Capt that was denied a JS earlier this week as he was trying to non-rev home after finishing a trip in EWR.

Actually nothing you said above refuted my post. Nobody refused a pilot non-reving in the back. Nor can they. Just so you know jumpseating and non-reving are two separated things.
