Did DL 2732 leave with an empty cockpit jumpseat?

Not going to happen 100% so might as well give all regional flying to wholly owned and call it a day.

I think they learned their lesson from Comair with respect to letting one get too big and try to flex its muscle.

Just my two cents, that is a change I can get behind .

United and Delta need to address the disparity between Republic and all other airlines? Don’t you have higher Jumpseat privileges on Frontier and Midwest Airlines since you own both of them? (Sarcasm).

Republic is a non-wholly owned multiple flag operator. There’s no allegiance/ownership to one of your mainline partners whatsoever. Same goes for Skywest. Fast forward a few years and hopefully this is a non-issue and your heavy RJ flights are flown by Delta pilots.

God bless.

We don't have jumpseat reservations on UAL or UAX. Our commuter policy requires a primary flight and a backup flight, online or offline, that are both scheduled to arrive before sign-in time. If we had those two flights, there is no discipline associated with a missed trip.

Previous to the 15th, UAX was check-in time after own-metal pilots. Own-metal pilots couldn't pre-list so you were in the same position. You'd check in at T-60 then an own-metal pilot could come up and bump you at the last minute.

The images posted show that it is changing j/s priority for SkyWest, Republic, Mesa, and Gojet and requiring them to use DOH for their own pilots on their own aircraft.
That is not a change.

AFAIK, they have always been DOH on their own flights. SKW has always been seniority. Air Wisconsin is the same. I believe the rest of the UAX carriers are as well.

I disagree. While the PIC is always the final authority, I think that the regional contractors need to remember that if not for the mainline flying that they are being contracted to operate, they would not have a job. They need to follow the policies set forth by the major partners for who they were contracted to operate for, not dictate from the bottom up.

SkyWest is not even a union of any stripe. The SkyWest pilots do not have any representation recognized by the NMB. Their Reps are on full-time managers.

They leveraged this position to harm ALPA members at ASA. They were the greatest beneficiaries of Delta's bankruptcy.

So, it should be properly stated that SkyWest management has a problem. Guess they should buy tickets for their employees if they want to get them on a flight sold on United (or Delta) code. As for non-rev bene's; close the door. They are not United, Delta, or ALPA.

My impression is he's talking about how Delta allows anyone to walk up and list and many other airlines do not anymore and we accept that.

If we want to control those jumpseats then we can bring the flying back in house. They are not ours and I will not support the idea that they should be required to change their own jumpseat rules for the benefit of the mainline partner.

Of course I agree 100% that the flying should be brought back in house but that’s a sub-narrative to the discussion of a contractor trying to call shots.

If you had a lawn service contractor you hired to mow your grass would you want them cutting out your trees and bushes just because they didn’t like them and made their job harder?
