Ed on status of negotiations
Ed speaks about the status of contract negotiations in a leadership engagement Q&A video. Very pointed, and interesting to see his perspective on our leverage, and his expectations. This is internal, so I won't be transcribing nor can I post a link.
But, if you'd like to see it: login to workplace, in the search bar, search "events expressway" and select the group. Scroll down to the post on NOV 7th with the Leadership Engagement Series video. Skip to 45:00-46:45.

That actually seemed about as close to a non-answer as you are going to get. They are working. There is nothing imminent. Management thinks 90% of us are happy. United will set the market. All the stuff about we are the best paid and negotiating against ourselves is the same talking point they are using at the table and will use with the nmb.
I thought the only noteworthy piece was the brief mention that he thought the union was trying to create relevance by making things seem bad.

My take away was that there will be some corporate restructuring as some divisions become stand alone subsidiaries. This will make the corporate entity more of a holding company. I see something along the line of Google and their transition to Alphabet. Where that leaves flight ops and the pilots could be very transformative. Scope and Profit Sharing are our ties.

This idea where we are a year behind United is also nonsense. It doesn’t matter where UAL is. I know where we are. Where we used to be and where I expect. I put just as much expectation on Alpa as I do to Delta management. If this starts to go long it’ll sour this pilot group quickly. There’s no excuses to sitting down and hammering out a fair contract... timeframes are corporate talk for stretching it out. Nonsense.

Not sure if we can post it here but Captain Gumm’s November 6th weekly update shows we are making progress, meeting off sight for accelerated talks and have an aggressive schedule going forward.
I may be the only one who thinks so but in my opinion Captain Gumm and our management want this behind them and know it’s in their best interest to make it happen.
On their best day United and American are a ****** show. It isn’t even a race. They are stuck in the chocks.
American would be better off if Parker left and their was no CEO. Lassie could do a better job. Although they are both good at digging holes.
With American, United and Delta hiring 1300 plus a year their will be no shows at all three for new hires.
The regionals will collapse in late 2020 or early 2021.
I think we are in the perfect spot. We need a contract that puts bankruptcy touches behind us and we can win together win management day after day.
We couldn’t have a better negotiating committee backed by the strongest of leaders.
