Quote: ...the black and white kohl’s ensemble was a fairly decent stopgap until the actual uniform replacement rolls out this summer.
Is there an “official” Kohl’s substitute? I have to admit I haven’t paid close attention to the b&w pieces they’ve been wearing, but there have been a lot of them.

Is there some standard?

Not all of the employees that are wearing those are allergic. That's a fact.
Some have alternate motives i.e union drive. That's a fact.
We are representing the company and it's embarrassing to see some of our front line employees wearing a hodgepodge black uniform that looks like it was purchased at goodwill store. That's a fact.
Carry on.
There are a couple of facts that you are missing.

Fact #1.) Many of the flight attendants who are wearing black now, absent an ultimatum from the company that they must wear purple, are playing it safe. What would you do if you were being told there was a possibility that your uniform could cause problems for you and your future children if you wore it?

Fact #2.). As pilots, we aren’t paid to care how the flight attendants look in their company approved uniforms. So, if the company says it’s ok for them to wear black, why do you care?

This ^^^^^

Talked with an FA today who said just because she doesn’t have obvious rashes or irritations it doesn’t mean the dye isn’t somehow damaging her health. She likes the purple and would prefer to wear it but out of caution has chosen to wear black. She recently flew an international trip where nine out of ten FA’s wore black.

I feel like this is a house of cards and those passport plum uniforms will be gone sooner rather than later.

Quote: Umm, thanks. I'm already doing my job, and I'm allowed to have an opinion. So here's the latest...the FAs are now being reimbursed 40 bucks per item they buy themselves for the alternate/nun outfit. But then guess what? They return them and keep the money! Lol, just when I thought it couldn't get any better...
Get a life.

Not as fun as flying with a fellow pilot who needs to vent about it.

I don’t know what the guidelines are. I would guess there was something, but I haven’t bothered to dig into it.
