Many of these people have an agenda. Whether it’s KCM or their Union drive, etc. At least be honest with yourself...

When customers ask us pilots about it, I need to be informed and educated. This is “in my lane.”

The company was making it nearly impossible to be approved for a B&W uniform in the past. This is why you didn't see that many people wearing it. Now, it's very simple and everyone gets approved.

There were plenty of people having issues in the past that weren't allowed to wear B&W, now they all can.

The discussion is about FA uniforms. Absolutely nothing to do with pilots. You're there to ensure our safety, not worry about what uniform we're wearing. You don't see us worrying about how many pilots don't wear their hats or ties in customer view do you?

Maybe there are some that just choose not to wear the uniform. If they're approved by the company then it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. Does it?

Is this because of their union drive? I know it’s not because they all have skin issues (the original random few, I understand did have actual problems)... but not the surge in the past few weeks. What say those in the know?

Why not let flight attendant managers worry about their uniform compliance and practice the golden rule here. If a flight attendant wanted to police my uniform, I think I’d be a little annoyed. Let’s pick our battles.

How quick would pilots ditch the hat if they could because some people were experiencing skin issues? My balding is certainly due to the hat, I think we need an alternate.

Exactly. The FA black uniform wear is approved by company policy and is optional.

The hat is required by company policy and is not optional. Yet we have at least one pilot here on another thread who simply refuses to wear the hat (by “forgetting it”) because he thinks it looks dorky and also some Southwest pilots laughed at him. Maybe he should claim that the hat gives his scalp a rash similar to the agent orange exposure he had in Vietnam. Before he was born.

That is true however they also can’t get bent out of shape when they get in a customer’s face during boarding and the customer completely ignores them thinking they are just another passenger. Which is exactly what happened on my last flight. Paperwork was done on both sides of the fence on that one (customer and flight attendant)

There’s an issue I don’t doubt it. But when airline rumor mills pull crap out of thin air, I can’t help but shake my head.

You must not know many Vietnam vets.

I’ve lived it and I KNOW Agent Orange was a big deal with them.

Don’t patronize me and the rest of this forum with your fake news. There are so many families that have lost loved ones because of Agent Orange.

They have that plastic ball cap with the teeny tiny laser lights. It would be a snappy item.
