Let’s be honest: if they were having issues before, they should be wearing an alternate uniform. I’m not disagreeing with this position.
But don’t tell me that the number of people affected by skin conditions has more than quadrupled since the letter went out a few weeks ago.
Many of these people have an agenda. Whether it’s KCM or their Union drive, etc. At least be honest with yourself...
When customers ask us pilots about it, I need to be informed and educated. This is “in my lane.”

There were plenty of people having issues in the past that weren't allowed to wear B&W, now they all can.

The discussion is about FA uniforms. Absolutely nothing to do with pilots. You're there to ensure our safety, not worry about what uniform we're wearing. You don't see us worrying about how many pilots don't wear their hats or ties in customer view do you?

Well then you need to tell them to not tell everyone on the crew how they don't have any reactions but would rather wear the alternate uniform. That was exactly what happened on my last flight. I've flown with this guy a ton but he said it then the others on the flight just kind of laughed about it. 4 out of 10 in alternate uniforms only 2 said that they had a reaction.

The number of FA’s wearing black instead of their purple uniforms has literally quadrupled in two weeks. I think they look awful and unorganized. Most are wearing unflattering sweaters and look frumpy.
Is this because of their union drive? I know it’s not because they all have skin issues (the original random few, I understand did have actual problems)... but not the surge in the past few weeks. What say those in the know?

The hat is required by company policy and is not optional. Yet we have at least one pilot here on another thread who simply refuses to wear the hat (by “forgetting it”) because he thinks it looks dorky and also some Southwest pilots laughed at him. Maybe he should claim that the hat gives his scalp a rash similar to the agent orange exposure he had in Vietnam. Before he was born.

That is true however they also can’t get bent out of shape when they get in a customer’s face during boarding and the customer completely ignores them thinking they are just another passenger. Which is exactly what happened on my last flight. Paperwork was done on both sides of the fence on that one (customer and flight attendant)

Yeah traces of Agent Orange my ass. Blow their mind and ask if it was Agent White or Purple. When they ask if you’re making fun of them, then you’ll know they don’t know crap about what they’re talking about. The average Midwest farmer has a higher level of dioxin than any Vietnam vet.
There’s an issue I don’t doubt it. But when airline rumor mills pull crap out of thin air, I can’t help but shake my head.

I’ve lived it and I KNOW Agent Orange was a big deal with them.
Don’t patronize me and the rest of this forum with your fake news. There are so many families that have lost loved ones because of Agent Orange.
