Default Indoc - Training Time

I understand Indoc is 2 weeks and I start 10 Feb but does anyone have any idea what the current timeframe is between Indoc and starting training? Thanks

Normally 2 weeks at home after indoc to self study, do CBTs and prep for the ESV. Once you show back up, you’ll have a brief systems review, take the ESV, and go immediately into the 200s.

So expect the following:

Indoc- 2 weeks
Self study at home - 2 weeks
200-400 sims - 4 weeks
Type ride in the sim at the end

Then 1 observation ride and 2 OE trips to finish off your training.

The self study time could be as little as one week, it’s all based on sim availability, seniority in your class and timing. The norm is closer to two weeks though. IIRC, 7 days is the minimum.

Those may be spaced with as little as 24 hours off between, which may or may not be a calendar day and even if its a calendar day, neither end may be commutable. So be prepared after the whirlwind of training to go home to dump training stuff, pick up uniform and repack, and then commute to base the same day for an early wake up the following day. Then again between observation trip and OE trip.

Some in your group may get generous time off and commutable trips between these phases so you might get lucky, but all you're entitled to is 24 hours or maybe one calendar day off in between, possibly double non commutable days, and they agressively try to give that absolute minimum. Even if you live in your base that could be challenging since you may not get time to even catch your breath.

Be prepared for an extremely aggressive and compressed footprint including only one week at home to learn a new plane on your own. If you get more than that, and sometimes a lot more than that, awesome. But the goal is to make it as compressed as possible for maximum, optimized efficiency.
