Default Applied to Delta Air Lines and they emailed m

I’m a retired Air Force C-17 instructor aircraft commander and T-6 instructor pilot with around 2,800 turbine time hours and most of that if heavy multi-engine. My PIC time is around 1,200. My last duty station in the Air Force was non-flying so I was non-current when I retired so I went into ExpressJet, got ATP completed etc. and now have around 400 hours in the ERJ145 and 121 experience. Currently 43 yrs old. I applied to a few majors and actually really want Delta. I applied to Delta about 3 months ago and 2 months ago they emailed me and asked if I could fix some things on my app in order to be considered. I fixed the gaps and issues and replied back to tell them I did so. That was a few weeks ago and I haven’t heard anything back. I had an inside rec and multiple letters of rec. Some buddies have told me that if they cared enough to ask me to fix the issues that I should expect an invite. I’m going nuts waiting and I’d love any constructive feedback from you all. Thank you and happy new year!!

that was the "Fix-it" email. i got an invitation to interview about 6 weeks after they sent me one. from my reasearch on these forums there is no definite timeline on when/if that will lead to an invitation to interview
Good luck!!

There are a couple of threads on here about delta fix it emails and ultimately the answer to the question of whether or not an interview is imminent is "it depends". If you got the fix it after a delta pilot emailed your name to recruiting then it might mean nothing because DL was obligated to review your app. If, however, the fix it email came out of the blue, that is a really good sign because it means your app was competitive enough to get pulled and reviewed on its own and is likely to result in an interview the next time it's scored by a recruiter (assuming the errors are fixed).

In your case though I'd imagine you'd be in the very short stack for an interview regardless of what triggered your app to get scored. The issue now is that there is no consistent timeline for when they'll look at your app again. For some guys it's a few weeks, for some it's months, and some never hear another word. Hopefully the huge hiring numbers for 2020 will mean you won't have to wait long.

Because of the shortsighted reduction in hiring this year they are WAY behind where they normally would be in terms of interviews. The backlog of the higher tier candidates is substantial so even if they do plan on giving you an invite, you may have to wait while. The process is divided so even if you are past the application review, you won't get the invite until they are able to get to you.

It seems that you're definitely in the ballpark of who gets called for an interview, but the process is pretty opaque to the line pilots like us.

The good news is that we're expecting to hire a lot this year, so there will be a lot of slots to fill - good luck and keep updating your application with new flight times, etc, I would say at least once a month, twice a month would be better. May sound pedantic, but it shows interest in Delta.

FWIW, I was told from a fairly reliable source that delta gives preference to the over 40 demographic if true you got that going for you.

Do you know what the "over 40" rationale is?
