You'd have a point if your facts were true. But they are not.

2017 PTIX = $5.655B ------> PS = 15.10%
2018 PTIX = $5.122B ------> PS = 14.03%

Have a look if you don't believe me:

SkyNet says 16% from a fleet captain guy. If true that would be the lower end as we all know to under promise and over deliver.

So I say 16.9%

13% is to low. Profits are up. I will stick with 16.3 but that’s a high end estimate.

15.9 with initial shenanigans from management, and then a grievance that eventually brings us up to 16.2.

Memo today from Mr Bastian says they will pay out more than 1.5 billion in profit sharing which is 16 % more than last year. The key here is what does MORE than 1.5 mean.

If we beat 4Q 2018 by the amount we have bested every other quarter last year it could be 1.653 billion or 28% more accrued.

1.5 billion would put it at about 16.35%. You then have to account for increased employee numbers and pay raises. I will stick with 16.3% overall.

Broncos....I lived it but don't remember(and didn't archive it). Can you post what the % payouts were from inception of PS?

Also,% are a great equalizer in analysis, but lest we forget, all I use them for is to determine my ultimate payout. IOW.....21% in 2015 sounds outstanding, but if contract pay rates are up 30% and longevity pay bumps amount to another 10% and seat/equipt another 10%......therefor your pay is up 50%.....I'll take the 16.5% on the larger pay as opposed to 21% of the old abysmal pay rates.(rates are up prolly 80% or more since bankruptcy)

This is even truer the farther back you go. Only an exercise in perspective. Anybody hired in 2014.....their creation of the world(Delta) as they know it started then(2014). On first blush, their mind assumes that all old guys have been "pigs at the trough" for their whole career, when in actuality PS pay outs are a relatively new and welcome phenomenon.

Another great thing about PS payout.....they are pensionable.....ie...DC on the PS....another 16% on top of the PS for the win Alex! YAY!!!!

Additionally, DC excess(which all will eventually achieve) is not "pensionable" (no DC on the excess). That has "cost" me about $8000 this year(not a gold mine but more than chump change)

There was a meeting last month where 16% was stated as the PS percentage.

Probably a good wag albeit a bit disappointing considering our incredible summer performance. All those GS had a cost though.
