Yes, like the Spirit Coronavirus LOA? That seemed like a good example of a MEC working with their company to make both sides happy.

I think that preventing furloughs is pretty tangible. I have little doubt the union will do the right thing when it comes to mitigating job losses. If they don't then they aren't doing their job.

The company claims they have multiple levers to deal with this. Let's let them pull away, wizard of Oz style. If one of those levers includes ALPA participation a little ego swallowing wouldn't hurt. Let's see what they have planned and be pragmatic when THEY approach.

It doesn’t have to be about smiting your “opponent.”

It's not about smite. They have been claiming for years they are prepared. Let them do their job and if that includes our participation they will ask. Their job is to grow and protect the company, let them do it. The existence and profit of the company far outweighs any other priority. If they need something they will do what is necessary. Be patient.

I’m not going to address this towards anyone in particular but just make a comment.
Does anyone remember the concessions we gave the company to hopefully avoid bankruptcy? The “Bankruptcy Protection Letter” etc.? How’d that work out for us? Now there are a bunch of posters saying we need to bend over backwards for the company without getting anything in return? Puhleeze.... There may eventually be a time and place for that but we are a long way off from it.
Do not let emotion cloud good business judgement.
