Well said. Quick’s the word, sharps the action. An excellent study on command, if I do say myself.

Man, if there is one thing this thread has taught me is, just like financial advice, be very careful about what book recommendations you take from pilots.

Great book. I doubt this is a tenth of the skullduggery USN was up to.
100% agree. Blind man's bluff is great.

West With The Night, by Beryl Markham, is one of the best books I've read in the last ten years. Markham was an aviation pioneer in Africa and her adventures are amazing. Combine her reminiscences with a prose style that ranks among the very best of her generation, and you get an aviation classic.

“Boyd: the fighter pilot who changed the art of war” (Coram) Incredibly entertaining and interesting biography

“Influence” (Cialdini) Easy to follow manual on how to not be a sucker

“The lessons of history” (Durant) Incredibly beneficial information delivered without excessive explanation

Go like hell by AJ Baime on Ford vs Ferrari

enjoyed that. I guess blind man’s bluff next

Two years ago I enjoyed Michael Collins (from Apollo 11) carrying the fire. Lindbergh wrote the introduction.

“Quartered Safe Out Here” - George Macdonald Fraser.

WWII Burma campaign as recollected by a British Lance Corporal. GET THE AUDIBLE book. Extremely well done, grisly, but funny as hell. Professionally narrated by someone who does all UK accents perfectly. This is a pre 2000, non-PC infantry great book.
